1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Recap Dat browser extension ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Recap Dat is a browser extension that uses artificial intelligence to generate summaries of web page content. The Service is provided "as is" and may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Subscription and Payments

Recap Dat offers both free and premium subscription plans:

  • Free Plan: Limited to 5 summaries per day with basic features.
  • Premium Plans: Unlimited summaries and additional features for a monthly or yearly subscription fee.

Premium subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are provided at our discretion and in accordance with applicable laws.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service beyond normal extension usage
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Recap Dat and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express written permission.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process web page content for the purpose of generating summaries. We do not claim ownership of the web pages you summarize or the summaries generated.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with third-party services, including AI processing providers. Your use of such third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Summaries will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • Any errors in the Service will be corrected

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RECAP DAT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Recap Dat and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on our website or through the extension. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
